Nursery
Within our Academy, we have a separate Nursery, which is part of our Early Years Provision. We operate during term time and offer morning or full day sessions.
- Morning sessions run from 8:45am - 11:45am.
- Full day sessions run from 8:45am - 3pm.
Children are able to attend from the term after they turn 3. We are a registered Early Years Provider and are able to accept both 15 and 30 hour funding. Our Nursery provision runs alongside our Reception classes, meaning children will have access to the Reception environment as well as meeting staff, which helps to provide a smooth transition when starting school.
What will my child be learning?
The EYFS framework outlines seven areas of learning and development. There are three key areas of learning, which are particularly important for children's development and future learning. These are:
- Communication and language
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Physical development
There are a further four areas, through which the key areas are strengthened and applied. These are:
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the world
- Expressive arts and design
Early Years staff will also use your child's interests and needs to plan challenging and enjoyable activities and experiences.
How will my child learn?
The EYFS framework identifies the essential role of play in your child’s development. Learning will take place through both child-led play and play guided by an adult in order for your child to develop confidence and relationships with others. Through play, EYFS practitioners will help your child to extend their vocabulary and develop their communication skills.
